Couples Therapy

For the couples who keep falling into miscommunication “traps” or the pair struggling to speak the same language- even though they love each other: couples therapy can help couples learn to communicate effectively and grow together.

I enjoy working with couples who may come from different cultures and backgrounds and help couples learn to appreciate their differences. I also use a more direct, skills-focused approach in my couples work, which clients often find helpful for improving their relationships. I’ll give you “homework” to have fun together, listen to understand, and increase appreciation for one another on a regular basis.

Many couples come to me for the following reasons:

  • Navigating different cultural backgrounds in the relationship

  • Communication issues

  • Navigating conflict or “gridlock” problems

  • Pre-marital counseling

  • Wanting to learn skills to improve relationship satisfaction

I believe that our relationships are one of the greatest tools we have for personal growth. For couples who are interested in resolving conflict, improving communication and fostering a culture of fondness and admiration in their relationship, I encourage you to reach out and inquire about couples therapy. Together we’ll identify common conflict “pitfalls” and build effective conflict skills using the evidence-based Gottman Method.
